VMP 2023 – Volati Management ProgramTell us about yourself! I am 28 years old and grew up in Tjuvkil, a small coastal town 4 miles north of Gothenburg. I studied engineering at Chalmers, first a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and then a Master's degree in Design and Construction Project Management. I also have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.
During my studies I worked as a maintenance engineer at Volvo Cars and as a project management educator. After graduation, I worked for two years as a project manager for IT projects in the construction and real estate industry.
What made you apply for the VMP program? I saw it as an opportunity to see, experience and learn a lot in a short time. And it really proved to be that!
Tell us more about your time as a VMP! My first rotation, in the fall of 2023, I spent at Tornum in Kvänum. I worked on the acquisition and integration of Simeza in Spain, the development of a 5-year strategy for our Finnish company Terästorni and product training. This was followed by six months at Salix Hem och Beslag in Jönköping, where I worked on the integration of Beslag Design AB and strategic purchasing. I am now finishing my VMP time with my last rotation at Volati's head office in Stockholm. Here I have driven the procurement of a system for collecting and calculating sustainability data and have been responsible for Volati's sustainability report. I also worked with monthly reporting and prepared material for board meetings.
What has VMP meant to you? Incredibly much! I have had the opportunity to develop in areas that I might never have tried otherwise. I have worked with M&A and integration issues, finance and economics, purchasing, logistics and technology. I have had the opportunity to lead a number of concrete projects, to be involved in production, but also to gain a helicopter perspective from strategic and operational discussions in the management team.
